Project Monitor- Delivery Tracking works not only with Projects and Sprints, but also with JIRA filters! In this way you can monitor the progress of activities selected by you.

Configure Project Monitor – Delivery Tracking

Note

After adding a Project Monitor gadget to your Dashboard, a configuration screen allowing you to configure the plugin will appear directly on the Dashboard in the gadget itself. The configuration parameters differ based on the JIRA Agile (Boards) being installed in JIRA or not.


Configure Project Monitor- Delivery Tracking in JIRA Server without JIRA Agile:

  • Project Start Date: insert the Business Start Date;
  • Project End Date: insert the Business End Date;
  • Use remaining estimate: if selected, the plugin will use the Remaining Estimate (the  remaining amount of time currently anticipated to resolve the issues)Further information in the section: “Use Remaining Estimate” Checkbox;
  • Refresh Interval: you can specify how often you would like the gadget to update.

  • Issue pool: choose one of the two options:
    1. Project: allows you to specify the project you would like to monitor;
        a) Version: allows you to specify the version tracked in the selected versioned JIRA project;
    2. Sprint: if you would like to monitor a Sprint, you must select;
      a) Board: allows you to specify the Agile Board you would like to monitor;
      b) Sprint Selection: allows you to specify the Sprint (belonging to the JIRA Agile Board) that you want to track in the gadget;
    3. Filter: allows you to specify a JIRA Filter which returns issues that represent a business project;
  • Project Start Date: insert the Business Start Date;
  • Project End Date: insert the Business End Date;
  • Use remaining estimate: if selected, the plugin will use the Remaining Estimate (the  remaining amount of time currently anticipated to resolve the issues).

Original Estimate (blue)The original estimate of the amount of time anticipated to resolve the issue. (This is indicated as Estimated when viewing an issue.)
Remaining Estimate (orange)The remaining amount of time currently anticipated to resolve the issue. (This is indicated as Remaining when viewing an issue.)
Time Spent (green)The amount of time logged working on the issue so far. (This is indicated as Logged when viewing an issue.)

Time Spent from Estimated:The value of the Time Spent from Estimated is an estimate of how long we have spent according with the estimated effort.
Estimated Time RemainingThe value of the Estimated Time Remaining in open issues may be different according to the user selection of “Use Remaining Estimate” checkbox in the gadget’s control panel. This value return the bar length. For closed issues, Estimated Time Remaining is always considered to be zero.
Actual Time Spent:The value of Actual Time Spent is obtained by adding all the Time Spent (Logged), for both open and closed issues. It’ return a percentage.
Projected Time Remaining:The Projected Time Remaining is an estimate of the residual time left until the actual end of the project, based on values of Time Spent from Estimated, Estimated Time Remaining and Actual Time Spent.
Business Start Date:The Business Start Date is when the project is supposed to start.
Real Start Date:The Real Start Date is the date of the first log (real start of the project).
Business End Date:The Business End Date is when the project is supposed to finish (ex. final delivery).
Projected End Date:The Projected End Date is a projection. It’s a date obtained by adding Projected Time Remaining to the current date.
Advance/DelayNumber of days of an advance or a delay of the project is the difference between Estimated End Date and Projected End Date.The gadget shows this difference in a colored rectangle. It is green in case of earliness, red in case of lateness.
